While Michiko is doing her best impression of Takemoto (Ganbare yo Micchan!!), I wanted to keep up with my anime viewing habits and growing list by compiling it in this section. TOP 10
1. Honey and Clover- the story, the dialogue and the characters truly make this the best “slice of life” anime around. It’s not very surprising it won as the Best Mangaka last 2005.
2. Bleach- Were it not for the damned filler episodes, it would have been my number 1. Great characters, good pacing and character development and I like the mix of action/fantasy/ and dare I say it, a shounen anime with a lot of love connections?
3. Full Metal Panic (1st Season, Fumoffu & TSR)- I love the light science fiction aspect of it! How the “Whispered” could create technology that violates the laws of science, but what got me hooked onto this anime are its amazing characters, funny moments and great action and fighting sequences. I can’t wait for A Dancing Very Merry Christmas and Continuing On My Own to be animated!
4. Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou (His and Her Circumstances/Tales of North Hills High)- Directed by Hideaki Anno, it’s most certainly a high school love story with tons of psychological currents. It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s one of those “love-love” anime that stick to your mind long after it’s over and you get obsessed over finding the manga. (oops, the last part’s all me though)
5. Ruruoni Kenshin/Samurai X- the anime TV series weren’t bad up until the Kyoto Arc ended and then hell began. But I *heart* Kenshin and the OVA’s were amazing!
6. Card Captor Sakura- the animation is just too cute! Yes, it’s a magical girl anime but the plot’s nothing to sneeze at. And I must admit, yaoi never looked so good as with Yukito and Touya. ^_^
7. Magic Knight Rayearth- I’m a loyal CLAMP fan and I must say, MKR is one of their best! Girls with swords are always a good thing but add girls with swords who can wield magic and operate biological mechas AND save the world–hands down, I never get tired of watching MKR over and over again.
8. Howl’s Moving Castle- In a word, it’s WONDERFUL. A touching story of human resilience at its best with magnificent animation and amazing characters.
9. Full Metal Alchemist- I loved the journey of Ed and Alphonse, the fight scenes were cool and I loved the whole idea of alchemy.
10. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya- a refreshing protagonist, a unique plot and a budding romance–definitely a must-see anime! Banzai Haruhi-ism!
